There is now the My-911 smartphone app which provides, among other services, automatic crash 911 calling triggered by measuring the G-forces on the phone. The app also includes services such as roadside assistance and a 24 hour nurse hotline
SALT LAKE CITY, UT, May 06, 2010 /Gadgets PR News/ -- When a user of the My-911 app has a serious car crash, their smartphone recognizes the dangerously high G-forces and automatically calls a My-911 emergency operator unless manually cancelled. Up to five other phone numbers can be alerted to the accident as well. This feature employs patented technology, but the app uses other existing technologies to prevent emergencies from happening.
The phone app also does all that technology can do to keep you aware of any potential dangers that may be around you. Using GPS to keep up with you, My-911 is able to alert you or a trusted friend when you enter a high crime area, an area under a severe weather warning, or proximity to a registered sex offender.
Other services are also provided to ensure that users young and old can be prepared against the unexpected. These include a 24 hour nurse hotline and roadside assistance. For the adventurer, the app includes search and rescue coverage and medical transportation coverage. The phone app was made with the intention of covering to the risks of any age or lifestyle.
